Traditional Finnish Pine Tar Balm with Over 2000 Years of Proven Skin Healing History
Tar Balm with authentic Finnish pine tar from traditional underground kilns, organic shea butter and almond oil soothes itching, reduces inflammation and supports healing of eczema, psoriasis, seborrheic dermatitis, cracked heels, calluses, rashes and dry skin. Fragrance free. Preservative free. 100% natural, vegan, organic. Handmade in Finland. Approx. 80 ml.
Pine tar has been used medicinally for skin conditions since ancient Greece, first described by Hippocrates more than 2000 years ago. Published research confirms pine tar is antipruritic, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and antifungal, and the National Psoriasis Foundation recognises it as a traditional therapy that helps slow skin cell growth, reduce itching and ease plaque thickness. This balm uses authentic Finnish pine tar, crafted using traditional underground kilns just as it has been made for centuries.
What Our Customers Say
"Softens the skin well, with a lovely tar scent. Not too strong." — Ulla P.

The Result
Itching is relieved and inflamed skin calms down. Dry and flaky patches improve with regular use. Cracked heels, calluses and chafed skin soften and heal. Suitable for face, lips, body, hands and feet. Especially effective for eczema, psoriasis, seborrheic dermatitis, insect bites, sun rash and keratosis pilaris.
Key Active Ingredients
Authentic Finnish pine tar (Pinus sylvestris wood tar) Produced using traditional underground kilns from Scots pine. Pine tar works by reducing DNA synthesis and mitotic activity in skin cells, which promotes return to normal keratinisation. Clinically shown to be antipruritic, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and antifungal. Recognised by the National Psoriasis Foundation as an effective traditional therapy. Not coal tar. Pure pine tar from Finnish forests.
Organic shea butter (Butyrospermum parkii) Rich in triterpenes with proven anti-inflammatory and skin-repairing properties. Deeply moisturises without clogging pores, restores the skin's lipid barrier and supports healing of dry and atopic skin. Organic.
Almond oil (Prunus amygdalus dulcis) Rich in vitamin E and essential fatty acids that support skin elasticity and help combat signs of aging. Regular use helps skin feel more youthful. Absorbs easily without greasiness. Organic.
Tocopherol (Vitamin E) A natural antioxidant that protects the skin from free radicals and supports healing. Natural.
2000 Years of Traditional Use
For over 2000 years pine tar has been used across Scandinavia and Finland in traditional medicine for wound healing, skin conditions and inflammation. Finnish woodsmen discovered that the same tar used to seal and protect their boats also healed their skin. In Finnish folk medicine, tar was used for almost all wound care. This balm brings that centuries-old tradition into modern skincare in its purest, most effective form.
How to Use
Apply a small amount to affected areas as needed. Suitable for face, lips, body, hands and feet. Use on eczema or psoriasis patches, dry and flaky areas, cracked heels, calluses, warts, corns, chafed skin, rashes and insect bites. A thin layer is sufficient as the balm is rich and absorbs quickly.
